Way of signing in to many websites with one username and password.


Benefits of OpenID to User:

• User don't have to remember his Username/Password for each of the websites separately.

Benefits to Websites

•   Websites don't have to store Username/Password for each of there users.

Disadvantages

• Single Point of Failure

OpenID provider : A website that verifies the identity of a user
Relying Website: A website which authenticates user based on OpenId

Best Practice
Use your own domain name as your OpenId.
